Directly relevant obligations and commitments
- Develop early warning systems to prevent and reduce risks from disasters at World Heritage properties, where appropriate: World Heritage Decision 30 COM 7.2, 3 and WHC-06/30. COM/7.2 (Strategy for Reducing Risks from Disasters at World Heritage properties) SEE COMMENTARY 1
- Ensure that institutional mechanisms are in place for the implementation of adaptation options through ICZM: Ramsar Resolution VIII.4, 13 and Ramsar Resolution VIII.4, Annex (principles and guidelines for incorporating wetland issues into Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM)) SEE COMMENTARY 2
- Member States to include relevant actions related to climate change impacts and adaptation in the Agreement's Action Plan hall to ensure that, from 2005, no installation undertakes any activity resulting in emissions specified in relation to that activity without a permit: EU Directive 2003/87/EC, Article 4SEE COMMENTARY 3
- Designate authority of Authorities to monitor all activities that may have an impact on the conservation status of migratory waterbirds: AEWA Article V.1
