Directly relevant obligations and commitments

  • Cooperate with other States and international organizations in developing educational and public awareness programmes with respect to conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity: CBD Article 13 (b)
  • Facilitate the exchange of information relevant to the conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity, taking into account the special needs of developing countries: CBD Article 17.1
  • Share details of wildlife trade policy reviews with other Parties: CITES Decision 14.22
  • Make use of the media to promote public education and awareness about the importance of conservation and sustainable use: CBD Decision IV/10, B 3

CBD Decision II/7, 1
Article 6 provides for measures for conservation and sustainable use and Article 8 is concerned with in situ conservation, including sustainable use.
