Ramsar Resolution VIII.39, 20 CBD Decision V/16, 17 Both aim at the recovery of indigenous practices for biodiversity conservation and sustainable use, while CBD Decision VII/16, E 6 asks for support to indigenous and local communities to carry out a similar task. CBD Decision V/23, Annex (part A, activity 6) contributes to these two rather general obligations for dry and sub-humid lands.

CBD Decision V/23, 3 CBD Decision V/23, Annex: Activity 6 of part A (Assessments) requests the identification and dissemination of best management practices, including knowledge and practices of indigenous and local communities.

CBD Decision VII/16, C 2 is asking for information, in national reports, on the status and trends of traditional knowledge, while CBD Decision VII/16, E 3 requests similar information for the completion of phase I of the composite report on status and trends of traditional knowledge.
