• Develop projects suitable for consideration by GEF: Ramsar Resolution VIII.5, 20 SEE COMMENTARY 1
• Develop projects related to inland waters suitable for consideration by the GEF: Ramsar Resolution VII.4, 12 SEE COMMENTARY 1
• Developing countries: Pay attention to conservation measures in requests for and programming of assistance: Ramsar Recommendation 1.2
• Give priority, in requests for assistance to the Financial Mechanism, to identifying inland waters, preparing and implementing watershed and river basin management plans, and investigating the processes contributing to the loss of biodiversity: CBD Decision IV/4, 7a)-c)
