Ramsar Strategic Plan 2003-2008, Operational Objective 20.1 The actions under this Operational Objective refer to several tools to implement this provision: amongst others the Convention’s Wetland Training Service (action 20.1.1), the Ramsar Bureau’s internship training programme (action 20.1.4), the regional wetland training and research centres (action 20.1.8) and the Convention’s Communication, Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) programme (action 20.1.9).

Ramsar Resolution IX.20, 12 This provision refers to the observation that wetlands occur within all biomes, take many forms, and are influenced by many activities and therefore require integrated planning and management approaches (Ramsar Resolution IX.20, 1).

Ramsar Recommendation 2.3, Annex The Framework for Implementing the Convention on Wetlands asks under national measures, 4.2, for the development of training programmes for wetland conservation managers.
